• Device and technical data — your device and browser type, operating system, language settings, and an IP address, which we use to connect and route your session.
• Approximate location — a general region (such as country or city) derived from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.
• Usage data — which mode you use across video, audio, and text, session timing, and actions such as next, skip, or report. This is largely kept in aggregate form.
• Cookies and local storage — small identifiers and settings your browser stores to keep a session working and to measure overall usage.
• Safety and moderation records — information connected to reports or rule violations that our team retains so it can review and act on them.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to operate ChatRandom and for the specific purposes below. We do not use it for unrelated activities.

• Matching and delivery — to pair you with another participant and to establish and maintain the live video, audio, or text connection.
• Safety and moderation — to review reports, enforce our community guidelines, and keep interactions on the platform appropriate.
• Abuse prevention — to detect, investigate, and block spam, bots, harassment, fraud, and other misuse of the service.
• Service improvement — to understand which features are used and how the platform performs, so we can fix problems and make it better.
• Legal compliance — to meet legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and protect the rights, safety, and property of users and the public.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and similar browser storage, such as local storage, to keep an active session running, remember basic preferences, and measure traffic in aggregate. Some of these are essential for the service to function; others help us understand general usage patterns.

Analytics providers may process technical data, such as an IP address, on our behalf and only to help us understand how the service is used. You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings at any time. That choice is yours, though some features may not work smoothly once you do.

How we share information

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keeping what we collect to a minimum is itself part of how we reduce risk. You have meaningful control over your information, and depending on where you live you may have additional rights under local law.

• Use the service without an account and keep most sessions anonymous.
• Decline non-essential cookies and clear stored data through your browser or device settings.
• Opt out of non-essential analytics using your browser or device controls.
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of information tied to a registered account.

How to exercise your rights

To make a request about your information, contact us through the in-app Help or Support option. We may need to verify your request before acting on it, and we respond as promptly as we reasonably can, subject to any records we are legally required to keep. Exercising these rights will not cause us to treat you differently across our chat rooms or other features.

Who this service is for

ChatRandom is meant for adult users and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we learn that we have collected information from someone who is not eligible to use the service, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves or as legal requirements change. When a change is significant, we will post the revised version here and update the date shown at the top. Continuing to use ChatRandom after an update means you accept the current policy.
